He is the nephew of the legendary Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and belongs to the famous Qawwali family of Pakistan. Rahat started his music career as a Qawwali singer and later gained fame in Bollywood for his soulful Sufi songs. He has worked on various Bollywood movies and has won several awards, including four Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer.
